14-Page Travesias Feature Marks Debut

July 2008

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO –When the editor of Travesias, a leading travel magazine of Mexico, approached me to write a feature about efforts by Clayoquot Wilderness Resort to achieve maximum sustainability, I had no idea the resulting feature would be 2,700 words or 14 pages long.

I interviewed proprietor Cowboy John Caton, as well as several other members of the Clayoquot team. I also reviewed efforts by other British Columbia lodges to become more green. Retelling my experience visiting the lodge was, naturally, the most fun facet of the project.

I wrote the piece in English, the editorial staff translated it into Spanish for publication. My next Trvesias article will detail "All Things Heli". This further expands my roster of international publications. I also contribute regularly to Hong Kong-based Escape Magazine.
